Interested in Volunteering at Wekiva?
Wekiva Volunteer Training is the best way to get to know camp before you volunteer. You’ll spend the weekend living at camp, trying the programs and meeting the people who make camp happen.
FFGC Wekiva Youth Camp has been in Wekiwa Springs State Park in Apopka, Florida since 1974. For six weeks each summer, campers from 1st through 9th grade spend a week living in cabins and learning about conservation, wildlife and ecology. Adult Volunteers and Environmental Educators serve as Program Leaders and role models.
Volunteers stay in air-conditioned cabins with indoor plumbing. Our Camp Clinic is staffed 24/7, and our Camp Director runs daily activities and leads our Counselor Staff, nearly all of whom are former Wekiva campers.

Insects are some of the most diverse, important and common animals on Earth. They’re often dismissed as “creepy crawlies,” but our buggy neighbors are beautiful, and the work they do matters.
This year at camp we’re introducing campers to the world of insects, starting with the species they can see up close at Wekiwa Springs. Join Ryan “Ant Man” Antalek for an interactive sneak peek into the secret lives of our crawling companions, with real insect encounters, insect ID games, insect snacks and more.
