History – Week 2

In 1972 the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs entered into an agreement with the

Florida Department of Natural Resources, Division of Recreation and Parks,

wherein a Youth Camp limited to conservation and nature study

would be built on Lake Prevatt in the central section of the State,

located within Wekiwa Springs State Park .

This historic agreement continues to be the only one of its kind,

not only in the state but in the nation.
